So…
where ya from?

I have been making art for as long as I can remember. I was always creating something as a kid. My mom would often do craft projects with me and my sister when we were young. I loved it when she would pull out the hot glue gun. When I would go to my grandparents’ house I would spend hours drawing pictures from their National Geographic magazines. I carried that passion for art through high school and decided to pursue an art degree in college. I never really knew what I wanted to do with an art degree, but I knew it was the right path for me.

I left the Alabama Gulf Coast in 2008 to continue college at the University of Montevallo.
I graduated from UM in 2011 with a Bachelors in Fine Art, concentrating in painting. Although my first love is painting, I developed a fascination with printmaking while in college. I really enjoy working with my hands and I find the printmaking process very therapeutic. I’ve never really considered myself a printmaker or any specific type of artist. I love many art forms like, polymer clay, punch needle, and crochet, to name a few. I do a little less painting these days because I am a slow painter, but it is still a great love of mine.

I draw a lot of my inspiration from fairy tales I grew up reading. I love images that tell a story, even if you aren’t sure what it is. I’m also a bit of a history lover and I try to incorporate some of those elements in to my work.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.
